Orkut Spam Controlled!!!!

Finally……

After myself and Vatsap with lot of bloggers globally threw shit on orkut spam policy, they finally solved the issue of Spam comments.They have formuated a technique to track these scraps using javascript to flood the whole friends list with shit.They have lost quite a no. of users to these spams, and a lot of tech bloggers have started wondering whether these spams were misdeeds of some nasty hacker or a well planned attack on destroying ORKUT.

Let’s leave these rantings for larry & sergey to figure out, and scale the Impact.

The impact was huge: Straight away 1050 odd scraps reduced to 961 scraps.So much junk!!!

Wonder what took them so much time to resolve this issue?

Undocumented emoticons in google talk

While surfing around today morning, i found a website where these new emoticons for gtalk were documented.A lot of my friends including me are emoticon addicts.These new emoticons will only add to the pleasure of chatting without words

 n the screenshot above, you can see a diabolic creature (}:-)), a crab (V.v.V), a wince(>.<), a broken heart (</3), a kiss ( ) and a mustache (:{).These emoticons only work in the new version of Gmail and can be disabled in the chat section from the settings (note the cool permalink).

PS: It will work only in the browser version of gtalk; i.e in the Gmail.

Life in layers : The second

It’s the second pic in the life in layers collection.I was browsing through my huge collection in picasa, and there i found these two beautiful ladies lying side by side.That was enough to get my ears sharpened.This time i didn’t even needed GIMP for rastering these two images.The basic picasa effects came out so well.I am again impressed with Google yet again.If you want to download full image, I am happy to share.

Orkut Spam!! Stop filling my scrapbook.

Saw some of those in your scrapbook.I guess if you have followed the steps in the mail, expecting to see some magic.

I am sure 9/10 times it’s only your friends who see the magic.The script copies itself to all of your friends scrapbook.

For heaven’s sake, next time you get such scraps paste them in google, not URL.

You will save everyone a lot of trouble.

And if any google guy is reading this post.

PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE.

Duck your heads: Google maps on the roll…

This is a video from the funny video group on youtube “the vacationeers“. They are demonstrating an on demand feature of Google maps street view.These guys are just too good.

Thought the above video was against the copyrights and blah blah…

well here is another one.This one is really a great video.The coolest feature of Google maps is it’s trip planning & it just got a whole lot better.So next time your feet are itchy, make sure you have the right directions.And ya, the feature works for Chennai too.So if the autowala bitches with you next time, tell him to keep his mouth shut.

SlideShow in Blogger: how to?

One of my favourite past time is to collect wallpapers.

So, i thought adding a slideshow of my collection here. It’s very simple, just follow these steps…

1. Sign into Picasa web albums.

2. Upload some pics or walls you like.

3. Create an album of these pics.

4.Then click on the album to see the pics, on the left side you will see something like this

5.After clicking on it you will see this box. Select the size of the slide show. A URL will be generated in the yellow box.

Copy and paste the from the yellow field of the box to the HTML view of your Blog editor in between these ” div and /div” tags or you can paste it before any “/div” .

That it. Happy Blogging….

You can add slideshows from Flickr too, but there is a restriction on the space and other requirements. I like to stick with GOOGLE for most of the things .

PS: this is applicable only for websites with javascript and flsh enabled.It won’t work with wordpress.
